Morpeth Wedding Venues

Are you engaged and now looking for a beautiful Morpeth wedding venue? I am a Morpeth wedding photographer who has photographed heaps of weddings in Morpeth. I have photographed a lot of weddings over the years and I can tell you that there are some really awesome venues in Morpeth.

So if you are not that familiar with Morpeth, it is a small town in the Hunter Region of NSW. It is located on the banks of the Hunter River and it sits somewhere between Maitland and Port Stephens.

Morpeth is a really beautiful place and is a pretty popular tourist destination for people. It is packed on weekends with everyone flocking to the markets, cafes, and small town country stores. The historic Morpeth Bridge and another landmark that you might have seen, which also make a lovely backdrop for wedding photos.

Some of these venues are just on the outskirts of Morpeth, but they all have one thing in common. All the venues are country venues that really fit into the rural landscape. And they are awesome.

So check out my list of the best Morpeth wedding venues. Some of these venues I have been to heaps of times and others I have yet to photograph, but would love to.

1. Wallalong House

Morpeth wedding venues Wallalong House

I love Wallalong House. This is a Morpeth wedding venue that I have been to many, many times. And it is perfectly set up for weddings.

Wallalong House is a classic garden wedding venue in the countryside overlooking beautiful fields of cows. It sits on top of a small hill and overlooks the valley and this venue has a long history in the region.

Accommodation is available onsite. There is the very large house itself, which can sleep 17 people. They have also recently fully renovated ‘The Stables’ to become the bridal suite. An amazing renovation that is rustic and totally unique. It is also slightly away from the main house, so you have that little bit more privacy. So you can both get ready on the property but still not see each other if thats what you want.

It has four fig trees at the front of the heritage home which are over 200 years old. This is generally where wedding ceremonies take place as they really make an ideal backdrop for your wedding ceremony.

The grounds of Wallalong House are beautiful for wedding photos Their gardens are carefully tended, and there many photographic locations around the property. What is also really cool is that the sun sets over the valley in front of you. And it is so easy to just step out of the tent for a few epic sunset shots.

The wedding reception is held in a huge Indian Tent right by the pool. The sides of the tent are generally left open so you get the feel of an outdoor wedding but with the shelter of the tent if needed. The side of the tent also comes down if it is windy or rainy. You really can’t go wrong with a Wallalong House wedding. And that is why it is one of the best Morpeth wedding venues.

Address: 76 Wallalong Rd, Wallalong NSW

2. Albion Farm Gardens

Albion Farm Gardens is about 10 from the centre of Morpeth and this place is something special. It features 100 acres of fields and farms and 25 acres of stunning gardens which are perfect for wedding photography and for your wedding day. It is part farm, part gardens and is located in the suburb of Woodville. Albion Farm Gardens was the first farm in the area and is still a family-run, working farm, and has been run by the same family since 1971.

There are many location options for your wedding ceremony in the gardens. Or you can have your ceremony inside the historic timber barn. From a wedding photographers point of view, either option will be great at this amazing hunter valley wedding venue.

There is a three-bedroom cottage onsite which is available for weddings but there is no reception venue onsite. But there is one directly across the road at Woodville School of Arts hall. Which is what they recommend you use. It is a lovely country hall and is a ‘blank canvas’ type venue, where you can style the room to suit your vision.

Address: 869 Paterson Rd, Woodville NSW

3. Weddings at Woodville

This special property is located about 8kms from the centre of Morpeth, in the small community of Woodville in the Hunter Valley. It is an absolutely stunning, heritage-listed, Gothic sandstone chapel. It looks stunning. This is a non-denominational chapel, so you can bring in your own celebrant or priest to do your wedding ceremony.

A charming old timber building and a huge air-conditioned marquee reception area on a patio next to the building, the ultimate all in one wedding venue. This venue is ideal for rustic, boho, classic theme weddings but it lends itself to a lot of styles. One of our favourite Hunter Valley wedding venues.

Address: 235 Clarence Town Rd, Woodville NSW

Maddies of Bolwarra

Located about 9km from the centre of Morpeth is Maddie of Bolwarra. A lovely and intimate, bed and breakfast and Morpeth wedding venue.

Maddies was built in the late 1800s and is a rural house with lofty ceilings and polished wood floors. Weddings take place beneath the shade of an old Moreton Bay Fig, which is flanked by water gardens and offers views of the surrounding countryside.

Address: 35 Paterson Rd, Bolwarra NSW
