Rothbury Wedding Venues

Are you planning a wedding and looking for awesome Rothbury wedding venues? Well, I have photographed heaps of weddings around the Rothbury area and I have seen the amazing venues and some pretty average wedding venues. So on this page, I am going to show you my favourite.

Rothbury is a small town or suburb located in the Hunter Valley and it borders all the other major towns in Wine Country. It is in a slightly quieter and more rural area than other towns like Pokolbin and Cessnock but is still only 5 or 10 minutes away from all the major attractions.

The wedding venues in Rothbury are really busy every weekend and it is the location for some of the best venues in the region. There are a variety of styles and looks to suit most couples tastes.

The Rothbury border is pretty fluid and many of the venues in the area that have the same postcode just seem to call their suburb whatever they want. One place will call itself Pokolbin while another place will call itself Lovedale and they are next door to each other. All these venues listed here are in Rothbury (according to google maps) or look like they should be in Rothbury. So here are some of my favourite Rothbury wedding venues in no particular order that can host an amazing wedding day for you.

1. Chateau Elan

Chateau Elan is an elegant and luxurious hotel in one of the most beautiful locations in the Hunter Valley. It is located within “The Vintage” estate in Rothury and sits next to a golf course. 

The Carriage House is a perfect location for your wedding ceremony. A fully air-conditioned, rustic sandstone chapel, with the stones reused from an 1843 homestead in the Hunter Valley. If you prefer an outdoor wedding, you can choose to have it at the Fairway Rotunda. There are a couple of beautiful function rooms to choose from for your wedding reception. The rooms would best be described as high end elegance and perfect for those couples that don’t necessarily want country, rustic.

2. Wandin

Wandin or Wandin Valley Estate as it used to be known, is a huge property on an actual working vineyard and is beautifully set up for weddings. Plus there are literally hundreds of kangaroos all over the property. So if you have any overseas guests who would love to see kangaroos, you will see so many around this amazing property.

There is accommodation available onsite, with villas and a large house. You have a few options for your wedding ceremony. Eucalyptus Grove, which is outdoor near the cricket oval. On the pontoon overlooking a dam. Or in the Barn which is full of barrels of wine. I personally would keep the Barn is a wet weather option and do one of the two other outdoor options.

Their reception venue is just beautiful and if you love cricket then it is even better! As it is located next to the cricket oval where you and your guests can play a game of cricket. Wandin can accommodate up to 120 guests and is a pretty amazing wedding venue and I happily recommend it.

3. Squire’s Vineyard

Squire’s Vineyard is a luxurious rural estate with a comfortable country look, offering traditional Hampton styling. Set on 100 picturesque private acres of rolling fields, vineyards and dams it provides the perfect backdrop for your wedding destination.

It can cater to weddings of 120 guests seated and there is onsite accommodation available for up to 30 people.

Located in the Sweetwater area of Belford, right next to Rothbury, Squire’s Vineyard is perfectly situated to offer peace and tranquilly alongside stunning scenery. It is a stone’s throw from some of the finest vineyards, restaurants and attractions the Hunter Valley has to offer. As a wedding venue it is well supported by numerous neighbouring properties offering additional accommodation.

4. Moravia Park Hunter Valley

If you are looking for a barn style wedding venue, then Moravia Park might be the wedding venue for you. Moravia Park is a spectacular one-of-a-kind destination located in the vibrant heart of Hunter Valley,in Rothbury. The barn itself has been recently renovated and has maintained much of its original beauty. From the raw metal beams down to the barn interior’s weathered timber lining. There is so much personality to this beauty! The barn features huge double sliding barn doors opening onto a split level bar and reception venue area.

Moravia Park is a blank canvas, DIY Hunter Valley wedding venue. Meaning, that you have a beautiful room to decorate to reflect your style and your wedding. You can make it exactly how you have always imagined. So make your wedding dreams come true!

5. Molly Morgan Vineyards

Molly Morgan is a beautiful vineyard located in the stunning Rothbury region of the Hunter Valley. By booking Molly Morgan for your wedding you get exclusive access to the entire estate. You are also not locked into any particular package or price. And you can create the package with Molly Morgan to suit your wedding size and needs.

The property features a four-bedroom homestead which will be perfect for wedding preparation. For the wedding reception, you will have to organise a marquee as there is no permanent structure onsite.

6. Woolshed Hill Estate

Woolshed Hill estate is a lovely accommodation and wedding venue in Rothbury that can offer you a perfect country and garden style wedding.

The estate can accommodate up to 24 guests over three separate self-contained properties. So it is great for family groups at your wedding. Wedding ceremonies could take place anywhere on the property, depending on what backdrop and location you like best. And there are a couple of options for your wedding reception. The Residence can hold up to fifty guests in the main dining room. Larger numbers would require a marquee to be set up on the lawn area.
